Next Chromebook Appears on Google Play Console with Key Specs

Google doesn’t seem to have given up on its idea of launching a Chromebook yet. The device has now appeared on the Google Play Console. Codenamed “Zork,” the Chromebook first appeared on the web last year, and references appeared in April. However, the new list spotted by 91 Mobiles reveals some key specs of the supposed Chromebook.

According to the listing, Google’s Chromebook sports AMD silicon with a 3.5GHz dual-core quad-core Ryzen 3 3250C. It will also come with 4 GB of RAM and a Radeon Vega 3 GPU clocked at 1.2 GHz. While the console listing shows Android 9 as the UI running on the device, there may be a good possibility that it is running ChromeOS. It should be noted that Android 9 was also mentioned in the benchmarks published in April of this year.

The Zork Chromebook is also expected to feature a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a pixel density of 160 ppi on a 14-inch canvas.

While it is not known when the product will be released in the open, it may not take a long time since it first appeared on the Google Play console.

In August of this year, a new Chromebook appeared with a codename Halvor, which could well be the next PixelBook. According to the Chrome Unboxed website, the device is supposed to support an Assistant key.

It’s said to be the biggest tipping point Halvor could be the PixelBook, as so far only a few Chromebooks and keyboards include a dedicated Google Assistant key. And all of these Chromebooks are made by Google. We are talking about Google Pixelbook, Google Pixel Slate Keyboard, Google Pixelbook Go, Brydge G-Type for Pixel Slate, Brydge C-Type and Logitech K580 Keyboard Chrome OS Edition.
